Islamabad – H.E Sheikhnur Mohamed Hassan, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia to Pakistan, continues to work tirelessly to strengthen the longstanding ties between Pakistan and Somalia. As part of these efforts, Ambassador Hassan paid an official visit to the Minister of Interior of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Syed Mohsin Naqvi.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed mechanisms to facilitate Pakistani enterprises operating in Somalia and addressed long-standing challenges faced by Somali citizens residing in Pakistan—particularly issues related to police registration procedures. Minister Naqvi welcomed the concerns raised by the Ambassador and reaffirmed the Government of Pakistan’s commitment to easing these difficulties. He emphasized that Pakistan remains dedicated to enhancing cooperation and deepening the relationship between the two brotherly nations.

Ambassador Hassan expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and constructive engagement. He acknowledged Pakistan’s vital role in strengthening the historical and strategic partnership between both countries. The Ambassador highlighted that Somalia, a rapidly developing African nation, offers significant business and investment opportunities for the Pakistani business community. As global attention increasingly shifts toward Africa—particularly in sectors such as minerals, tourism, agriculture, and trade—stronger Pakistan–Somalia economic cooperation is becoming more valuable than ever.
He further noted that Pakistan’s policy of promoting tourism and facilitating global travelers through relaxed visa procedures presents an important opportunity. He encouraged Pakistan to extend similar facilitation to Somali nationals wishing to visit for tourism, education, business, or family purposes. The Ambassador welcomed ongoing positive steps by the Government of Pakistan to improve visa and travel procedures for Somali citizens.
The meeting concluded with both sides reaffirming their commitment to further strengthening bilateral ties, enhancing people-to-people contact, and promoting mutually beneficial cooperation.
