The meeting was marked by a warm and cordial atmosphere, focusing on enhancing bilateral cooperation in urban development, sustainable infrastructure, and tourism.

A key highlight of the meeting was the proposal to establish a sister-city relationship between Islamabad and Kigali, the capital of Rwanda. He acknowledged Rwanda’s expertise in wildlife conservation and sustainable urban practices as a valuable resource for Islamabad’s future growth.
High Commissioner Harerimana praised CDA’s performance and expressed Rwanda’s strong interest in deepening cooperation, particularly in the areas of capital city governance, eco-friendly infrastructure, and smart city solutions. She noted Rwanda’s eagerness to learn from Islamabad’s urban development experience and share insights from Kigali’s model of sustainable city planning.
Both sides agreed to explore institutional linkages, capacity-building programs, and joint ventures in smart city technologies, green spaces, and tourism promotion. The meeting concluded with the exchange of a souvenir from Chairman Randhawa to High Commissioner Harerimana, symbolizing the growing friendship and mutual ambition for lasting collaboration between Pakistan and Rwanda.
