President Zardari Underscores Unbreakable Pakistan–Morocco Brotherhood, Calls for Expanded Cooperation

ISLAMABAD – President Asif Ali Zardari has reaffirmed that Pakistan and Morocco share deep-rooted, fraternal ties anchored in a common faith, shared values, and mutual respect — a relationship that he said must be further strengthened for the benefit of both nations and their peoples.

He made these remarks during a meeting with Ambassador of Morocco to Pakistan, Mr. Mohamed Karmoune, who paid a courtesy call at Aiwan-e-Sadr.

President Zardari said Pakistan is fully committed to broadening and deepening bilateral cooperation with Morocco across diverse sectors, including trade, investment, culture, and people-to-people exchanges. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to Morocco for its timely and generous assistance during the 2022 floods in Pakistan, describing it as “a gesture that reflects the depth of our friendship and solidarity.”

The President noted that Morocco’s impressive economic progress and its growing role as a gateway to Africa position it as a key partner for Pakistan in tapping the continent’s emerging opportunities. “Morocco’s vision for regional prosperity aligns closely with Pakistan’s own aspirations for economic growth and South–South cooperation,” he observed.

Reiterating Pakistan’s high regard for its ties with the Kingdom, President Zardari extended his best wishes for the good health and well-being of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, and requested the Ambassador to convey the warm regards of the Government and people of Pakistan to the King and the brotherly people of Morocco.

Both sides agreed to intensify diplomatic, economic, and cultural engagements to carry forward the long-standing Pakistan–Morocco partnership into a new era of cooperation and mutual prosperity.
