Pakistan rejects India’s baseless rhetoric, reaffirms commitment to peace & resolute defense

Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pakistan Ambassador Tahir Andrabi

Islamabad – In reaffirming Pakistan’s longstanding commitment to regional peace and stability, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs underscores that responsible diplomacy and adherence to international norms remain central pillars of Pakistan’s foreign policy. Reckless and politically charged statements, such as the one recently issued by the Indian External Affairs Minister, undermine the values of mature statecraft and are deeply counterproductive to regional harmony.

Pakistan has consistently demonstrated that its national institutions operate with discipline, professionalism and a deep sense of constitutional responsibility. The unity and resolve shown by Pakistan’s armed forces and its civilian leadership during the events of May 2025 once again highlighted the country’s ability to respond to security challenges with composure, strategic clarity and an unwavering commitment to protect its citizens. Attempts to distort or misrepresent this reality serve no purpose other than inflaming public sentiment and distracting from substantive issues.

It is regrettable that, instead of engaging constructively, segments of the Indian leadership continue to rely on divisive narratives that fuel misunderstanding and tensions. At a time when the region faces shared challenges—from climate disasters to economic pressures—South Asia needs dialogue, restraint and cooperation, not political point-scoring.

Pakistan reiterates that sustainable peace can only emerge from mutual respect, recognition of sovereignty, and commitment to resolving differences through meaningful engagement. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs remains open to all initiatives that promote stability, reduce misperceptions, and advance the collective well-being of the peoples of South Asia.

Pakistan stands firm in its dedication to coexistence, diplomacy and international law. At the same time, it remains fully prepared to safeguard its national security and territorial integrity. The people and institutions of Pakistan are united in their resolve for peace—yet equally united in their determination to defend the country against any threats to its sovereignty.
