Pakistan Reinforces Global Diplomacy, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar to Lead Key UN Security Council Events in the U.S.

Islamabad – In a significant diplomatic move, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar will visit the United States next week to lead high-level engagements as part of Pakistan’s Presidency of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC). His visit marks a strong affirmation of Pakistan’s leadership on the global stage and its commitment to multilateralism, peace, and justice—particularly in regard to the Palestinian cause.

In New York, Senator Dar will preside over several key Security Council signature events, including a high-level Open Debate on “Promoting International Peace and Security through Multilateralism and Peaceful Settlement of Disputes.” The event is aimed at revitalizing multilateral diplomacy and encouraging peaceful conflict resolution as essential tools for global stability.

The Deputy Prime Minister will also lead the Quarterly Open Debate on the “Situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian Question,” reaffirming Pakistan’s longstanding and principled support for the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and a just, lasting peace.

Additionally, Senator Dar will chair a high-level UNSC briefing on strengthening cooperation between the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), highlighting Pakistan’s proactive role in building bridges between international and regional institutions for the maintenance of global peace and security.

As a further expression of solidarity, the Deputy Prime Minister will represent Pakistan at a high-level Conference on the “Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution.” His participation underscores Islamabad’s unwavering commitment to justice for the Palestinian people in accordance with UN resolutions and international law.

Beyond the United Nations, the Deputy Prime Minister is also scheduled to engage in key meetings in Washington D.C. to further strengthen Pakistan–U.S. bilateral relations across multiple sectors.

Senator Ishaq Dar’s visit underscores Pakistan’s rising stature in international diplomacy and its dedication to upholding the principles of multilateral cooperation, peaceful resolution of disputes, and support for oppressed peoples around the world.
