- High-Level Meeting Reinforces Strategic Cooperation
Islamabad – Federal Minister for Petroleum, Ali Pervaiz Malik, held a productive meeting with H.E. Nassar Abdulrahman Jasser Almutairi, Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to Pakistan, in Islamabad. The discussions focused on enhancing bilateral relations, deepening energy cooperation, and addressing key regional developments of mutual interest.
Kuwait’s Continued Support Strengthens Pakistan’s Energy Security
During the meeting, the Minister expressed sincere appreciation for the support of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC), particularly for assuring full facilitation to Pakistani-flagged vessels involved in the lifting of diesel and jet fuel from Kuwait.
He commended Kuwait’s unwavering commitment to Pakistan, especially in times of global uncertainty, highlighting its vital role in strengthening Pakistan’s energy security framework.
Enduring Partnership Built on Trust and Brotherhood
Highlighting the deep-rooted ties between the two nations, Minister Malik emphasized that Pakistan and Kuwait share a relationship that goes beyond diplomacy—one that is “connected by hearts.”
For over five decades, Pakistan has relied on Kuwait for petroleum supplies, particularly diesel, reflecting a longstanding partnership based on trust, reliability, and shared interests.
Acknowledging Leadership and Expanding Cooperation
The Minister requested the Ambassador to convey his warm regards to H.E. Tariq Suleiman Ahmed Al-Roumi and Sheikh Nawaf Al Sabah, recognizing their leadership in strengthening energy collaboration between the two countries.
Both sides agreed to explore new avenues of cooperation and expand engagement in areas that deliver mutual economic benefit.
Shared Vision for Regional Peace and Stability
Reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace, Minister Malik noted that under the leadership of Shehbaz Sharif, the country is actively promoting dialogue and peaceful conflict resolution. He also highlighted Pakistan’s readiness to support Gulf Cooperation Council countries in ensuring the supply of essential commodities when needed.
Kuwait Appreciates Pakistan’s Constructive Global Role
Ambassador Almutairi praised Pakistan’s leadership in advocating peace and rejecting conflict, acknowledging the efforts of the government, people, and armed forces. He reaffirmed Kuwait’s pride in Pakistan’s positive global role and expressed continued support for strengthening bilateral cooperation.
