Pakistan and Iran Reaffirm Commitment to Regional Peace and Defence Cooperation

Minister for Defence of Iran Brig. General Aziz Nasir-Zadeh held a bilateral meeting with Minister of Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif in Islamabad.

ISLAMABAD – In a significant step towards strengthening regional security and defence collaboration, the Honourable Minister for Defence of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Brigadier General Aziz Nasir-Zadeh, held a high-level bilateral meeting with Pakistan’s Minister for Defence, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, in Islamabad.

The two leaders engaged in comprehensive discussions on matters of mutual interest, including regional peace, counter-terrorism cooperation, and opportunities to expand defence ties between the neighbouring nations.

Both ministers reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing bilateral defence relations, emphasizing the importance of close coordination in addressing shared security challenges. Minister Khawaja Asif acknowledged Iran’s active engagement and underlined the growing role of defence diplomacy in fostering peace and mutual understanding across the region.

Brig. Gen. Nasir-Zadeh thanked the Government of Pakistan for the warm hospitality and reiterated Iran’s commitment to deepening military and strategic cooperation rooted in mutual respect and regional stability.

Concluding the meeting on an encouraging note, both sides expressed optimism for the future of Pakistan-Iran defence collaboration and pledged to continue working together for the prosperity, peace, and security of the broader region.
