Islamabad, 17 November 2025 – The 13th Round of Pakistan-Iran Bilateral Political Consultations (BPC) was convened today in Islamabad. The Pakistani delegation was led by Her Excellency Ms. Amna Baloch, Foreign Secretary of Pakistan. The Islamic Republic of Iran’s delegation was headed by His Excellency Mr. Majid Takht-Ravanchi, Deputy Minister for Political Affairs. The meeting included the participation of senior officials from both countries.
Review and Enhancement of Bilateral Relations
During the session, the two sides conducted a comprehensive review of the entire spectrum of their bilateral relationship. They assessed the progress on decisions made during the previous round of BPC. Both parties reached a consensus to enhance and diversify bilateral trade and to expand collaborative efforts in key sectors such as energy, transport connectivity, education, and people-to-people exchanges.

Strengthening Institutional Cooperation and Multilateral Engagement
The discussions also covered significant regional and global developments. Both delegations emphasized the importance of activating various institutional mechanisms, notably the Joint Economic Commission (JEC) and the Joint Trade Committee (JTC), to deepen cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

Furthermore, the two sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening collaboration within multilateral forums, including the United Nations (UN), the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO). They also agreed to maintain a continuous dialogue on global and regional issues of common concern.
A Forward-Looking Partnership
The consultations underscored the close, fraternal ties between Pakistan and Iran, which are rooted in a shared history, cultural affinities, and faith. Reflecting the positive momentum, both nations agreed to hold the next round of Bilateral Political Consultations in Tehran at a mutually convenient date.
