Moscow Accuses Kyiv of Systematic Use of Toxic Agents in Violation of Chemical Weapons Convention

  • Russia regularly shares relevant data with the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, the UN Security Council and General Assembly, director of the Russian foreign ministry’s international organizations department Kirill Logvinov said

A high-ranking official from the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has leveled serious accusations against Ukraine, alleging the systematic use of toxic substances against both Russian military personnel and civilians.

In a statement to TASS, Kirill Logvinov, Director of the Ministry’s International Organizations Department, claimed that Ukrainian armed units are operating in flagrant violation of the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC). “In violation of international commitments under the Chemical Weapons Convention, Ukrainian armed units systematically use toxic agents against Russian troops and the civilian population in the zone of the special military operation,” Logvinov stated.

The diplomat asserted that Russian authorities are meticulously documenting each alleged incident. “All such cases are documented by our competent agencies,” he emphasized.

According to Logvinov, Moscow is actively engaging international bodies on the matter. He stated that Russia regularly submits this data to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), the UN Security Council, and the UN General Assembly. The goal, he said, is to inform the global community about what he termed “CWC violations by the Kiev regime” and to provide Russia’s perspective on the situation in the conflict zone.
