Rabat — His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, has extended his deepest condolences and heartfelt compassion to the family of the late Sheikh Jamal Eddine Al Qadiri Boutchich, revered spiritual leader of the Qadirya Boutchichia Sufi order.

In a message imbued with profound sorrow, the Sovereign expressed his solidarity with the Sheikh’s family, disciples, and followers both in Morocco and abroad. The King described the passing as a great loss not only to the Qadirya Boutchichia order but also to the Moroccan nation and the Muslim world.

The late Sheikh, who passed away on Friday at the age of 83 after a long illness, was remembered by His Majesty as a tireless servant of Islam and an unwavering promoter of its noble values of tolerance, moderation, and spiritual enlightenment. The King praised his dedication to preserving Morocco’s centuries-old Sufi traditions and his steadfast loyalty to the Alaouite Throne.

In his royal tribute, the Monarch recalled Sheikh Jamal Eddine’s unshakable commitment to the Institution of Imarat Al Mouminine, which safeguards Morocco’s religious unity and spiritual identity. The King underscored the Sheikh’s influential role in guiding generations toward a balanced and harmonious practice of faith.

Born in 1942 in the village of Madagh, Berkane province, Sheikh Jamal Eddine Al Qadiri Boutchich assumed leadership of the Qadirya Boutchichia order in 2017, continuing its mission as a beacon of spiritual guidance. Under his stewardship, the order’s headquarters in Madagh remained a vibrant center of learning and faith for devotees from across Morocco and the world.

The King’s message prayed for divine mercy upon the deceased and patience for all who mourn his loss, reaffirming His Majesty’s unwavering support for Morocco’s spiritual leaders and guardians of its religious heritage.
