Islamabad – The International Sirah Conference 2025, titled “Contemporary Dimensions in the Study of the Sirah of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him): Approaches, Challenges and the Way Forward” was inaugurated on Wednesday, 23rd April 2025 at Allama Iqbal Auditorium, Islamic Research Institute, Faisal Masjid Campus, International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI). The conference is organized by the International Centre of Excellence for Sirah Studies, Islamic Research Institute (IRI), IIUI, in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Jamia Muhammadi Sharif, Chiniot (JMSC), the International Forum for Moderation, and the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme.

The ceremony featured addresses by distinguished guests, including Prof. Dr. Abdul Latif Bouazizi, President, Ez-Zitouna University, Tunisia, and Prof. Dr. Fahad Obaidullah, Professor, Aligarh Muslim University, India. His Excellency Sardar Muhammad Yousaf, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, delivered the address of the Chief Guest, emphasizing the importance of studying the Sirah in promoting peace, understanding, and social

harmony in the modern world.
The Honourable Chair of the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Saad Dine El-Othmani, Ex-Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Morocco, expressed his views on the global significance of Sirah studies in addressing contemporary challenges.
The event concluded with the vote of thanks by Prof. Dr. Ahmad Shuja Syed, President, IIUI, who expressed gratitude to all the delegates, organisers, and partners for their contributions to the success of the conference.

In recognition of their contributions to the field of Sirah studies, souvenirs were presented to the distinguished guests, followed by a group photo with the delegates.
This international conference provides a platform for scholars, researchers, and academics to engage in discussions on the contemporary approaches, challenges, and future directions in Sirah research.
