HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, attended the 2024 Saudi Cup today, recognized as the world’s most valuable horse race and held under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud.
Upon arrival at the King Abdulaziz Equestrian Field in Riyadh, HRH the Crown Prince was welcomed by Prince Bandar bin Khalid bin Faisal, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Equestrian Authority and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Jockey Club of Saudi Arabia (JCSA), Prince Mohammad bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of Riyadh Region, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal, Minister of Sport, and Prince Abdullah bin Khalid bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Member of the Board of Directors of JCSA and Chairman of the Technical Committees.
Subsequently, the participating horses moved from the grooming arena to the parade ground in front of HRH the Crown Prince before the race commenced. All participating jockeys were also present on the parade ground.
Following this, the 9th round of the Saudi Cup began. After the conclusion of the race, HRH the Crown Prince proceeded to the awarding platform, where he congratulated Sharf Al-Hariri, the owner of the racehorse Señor Buscador, who was crowned the winner. HRH the Crown Prince also extended congratulations to Hamad Al Rashid, the trainer of Señor Buscador, and the jockey, Junior Alvarado, who received a horse model and a cavalry horse helmet. Photographs were taken during this occasion.
The ceremony was attended by several princes, including Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Chairman of the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club, along with ministers, dignitaries, senior guests of the Saudi Cup Race ceremony from inside and outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and several participating horse owners.
