February – The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran today issued an official statement commemorating the 47th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution, reaffirming the nation’s commitment to sovereignty, scientific advancement, and constructive diplomacy amid sustained external pressures.
The statement described the 1979 Revolution as the manifestation of the Iranian nation’s collective will—rooted in faith, historical identity, and the legitimate pursuit of self-determination—which successfully overcame a foreign-backed dictatorial regime. This transformation, the Embassy noted, established national sovereignty, institutionalized popular participation in governance, and restored the dignity and independence of the Iranian people.
Over the past 47 years, the Islamic Republic of Iran has pursued a trajectory defined by independence, justice, and resistance to domination. Despite persistent coercive measures, the country has achieved significant scientific and technological advancements by leveraging domestic expertise, social cohesion, and a highly skilled human capital base.
In the economic domain, the statement highlighted measurable progress in industrial output, non-oil export expansion, and fiscal consolidation—achieved in spite of unilateral sanctions and campaigns of maximum pressure. These efforts have contributed to the development of a more diversified and resilient economy. Concurrently, investments in social infrastructure, including expanded healthcare access and progress toward self-sufficiency in strategic sectors, have tangibly improved citizens’ quality of life.
On the diplomatic front, the Islamic Republic of Iran has pursued a balanced foreign policy grounded in active and pragmatic engagement. The country has prioritized the expansion of bilateral and multilateral relations with neighboring states, emerging economies, and regional and international organizations. Iran positions itself as a responsible, independent, and constructive actor committed to dialogue, multilateralism, and cooperative frameworks essential for regional peace, stability, and sustainable development.
The statement further addressed the Islamic Republic’s continued commitment to diplomatic engagement, including in nuclear-related negotiations undertaken in good faith. These efforts, however, have been met with aggressive actions attributed to the Zionist regime, involving U.S. complicity, resulting in substantial human and material losses.
Regarding public demonstrations that commenced on December 28, 2025, the Embassy noted that initial gatherings—rooted in economic concerns and largely peaceful in nature—were subsequently infiltrated by violent and extremist elements, leading to acts of armed unrest. The Government of the Islamic Republic reaffirmed its adherence to human rights obligations, including the right to peaceful assembly, while emphasizing its primary duty to ensure public order and national security. Maximum restraint was exercised in restoring stability, and the Iranian people’s vigilance once again thwarted attempts to destabilize the country.

In the face of coordinated military, political, and narrative-based pressure campaigns, the Islamic Republic remains unwavering in its commitment to safeguarding national sovereignty and security. At the same time, it continues to view diplomacy as a vital instrument for advancing national interests and fostering regional peace. The Embassy underscored that meaningful dialogue can only occur on the basis of mutual respect and sovereign equality, and that negotiations conducted under threat or demand for unilateral concessions are inherently unproductive.
Concluding the statement, the Embassy paid tribute to the late Founder of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini, and honored the memory of the nation’s martyrs, reaffirming the enduring principles upon which the Islamic Republic was established and continues to evolve.
