Established as a flagship initiative of the Ministry of IT & Telecommunication and operated by a consortium of premier commercial partners, the NIC has emerged as a cornerstone of Pakistan’s digital transformation strategy. The Ambassador received detailed briefings on the Center’s tangible impact, which includes the incubation of over 450 startups—with more than 75 founded by women entrepreneurs—facilitating cumulative investments surpassing PKR 31 billion, and contributing to the creation of over 200,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities nationwide.

During the visit, Ambassador Mortensen toured the Center’s advanced infrastructure, including specialized DeepTech laboratories. She expressed particular admiration for the cutting-edge environment where nascent ideas are developed into scalable, market-ready solutions. The tour highlighted specific startups and projects exemplifying the synergy of collaboration, advanced technology, and entrepreneurial vigor.

“The National Incubation Center stands as a powerful testament to how strategic public-private partnership can unlock national potential,” a diplomatic official noted following the visit. “The Ambassador was deeply impressed by the operational model, the quality of innovation on display, and the measurable socio-economic impact being generated.”

The NIC’s success is viewed as a critical case study in ecosystem development, demonstrating the effectiveness of providing holistic support—from seed funding and mentorship to world-class facilities and market access. The visit underscores the growing international recognition of Pakistan’s tech sector as a dynamic and investable frontier.

Analysts suggest that such high-level diplomatic engagement not only validates the NIC’s model but also signals to the global investment and innovation community the robust opportunities present within Pakistan’s digital economy. The Center continues to be instrumental in positioning Pakistan as a rising hub for technology and entrepreneurship in the region.
