According to Billboard magazine, the singer has also achieved her eighth number one on the sales charts this week with this album that was released on March 29 under the generic title “Act II: Cowboy Carter”, as a continuation of the previous one. titled ‘Renaissance’.

The album has debuted, according to the specialized magazine, at number 1 after achieving the sale of 407,000 album units in the United States in the week ending April 4.

Sales record so far this year

This is the artist’s eighth number one album on the Billboard 200 and has also set a sales record so far this year, only surpassed in November 1989 when Taylor Swift managed to enter directly at the top of the list after sell 1.6 million units.

According to the specialized magazine, the “Single Ladies” singer also has another record in the world of music, becoming the first African-American woman to top the list of best country albums, which was created in 1964.

And it has had the most successful week for a country music album by units sold since last July, when Taylor Swift’s “Speak Now” (Taylor’s Version) opened at No. 1 on the July 22, 2023 chart with 716,000 units.

More than five years preparing this album

On her Instagram account, Beyoncé explained after the publication of the new work that she had been preparing this album for more than five years, that it was born from an experience in which she did not feel “welcome” but that caused her to get deeper into the history of the album. Country music.
