DUBAI: International supermodel Bella Hadid has extended her humanitarian efforts by helping fund a clean water project in Uganda, providing thousands of children and families with reliable access to safe drinking water through a partnership with Amy Bell Charities.

The charity recently inaugurated “Bella’s Well”, its 999th clean water well, in a rural Ugandan community. Photographs shared by the organization showed children and local residents celebrating around the newly installed borehole, while the charity expressed its gratitude to Hadid for helping turn the life-changing project into reality.

Amy Bell Charities has been working across Uganda to improve access to clean and sustainable water sources by constructing boreholes in underserved communities. Beyond providing clean water, the organization also promotes hygiene education and sanitation programs aimed at preventing waterborne diseases and improving long-term public health.

The charity says that access to safe drinking water not only protects families from illness but also reduces the time women and children spend collecting water, allowing more children to attend school and communities to improve their overall quality of life.

Hadid has consistently used her global platform to champion humanitarian causes and support vulnerable communities. Proud of her Palestinian heritage, she has been an outspoken advocate for humanitarian relief while contributing to charitable initiatives across the world.

Earlier this year, Hadid’s beauty brand, Orebella, partnered with organizations supporting people affected by Lyme disease, a condition she has battled for years. In 2024, she announced that a portion of the brand’s proceeds would be donated to the Orebella Alchemy Foundation, which funds projects focused on creating meaningful social impact.

In March, the foundation launched a partnership with the LymeLight Foundation, a California-based nonprofit dedicated to helping children and young adults living with Lyme disease. Hadid has openly shared her own health journey, using social media to raise awareness about the illness and encourage others facing similar challenges.

One of the fashion industry’s most influential figures, Hadid has built an acclaimed international career since joining IMG Models in 2014. She has appeared in campaigns for many of the world’s leading luxury fashion houses, graced the covers of numerous international magazines, and earned the prestigious Model of the Year title from the British Fashion Council.

With the completion of “Bella’s Well,” Hadid has once again demonstrated that her influence reaches far beyond the runway, helping deliver one of life’s most essential resources to communities in need.
