Ambassador Alex Berg von Linde Visits Sujawal and, Jamshore with UNICEF Pakistan to Assess Swedish-Funded Initiatives

Islamabad – In a significant move to reinforce Sweden’s commitment to sustainable development in Pakistan, Ambassador Alex Berg von Linde recently traveled to Jamshore and Sujawal alongside UNICEF Pakistan to follow up on Swedish-supported initiatives. The visit aimed to witness firsthand the impactful programs in education, health, sanitation, and access to clean water, which are transforming lives in the region.

During the visit, Ambassador von Linde toured several project sites where Swedish funding has been instrumental in driving positive change. He interacted with local communities, government officials, and UNICEF representatives to gain insights into the progress and challenges of these initiatives.

Education: Empowering the Next Generation
One of the key highlights of the visit was the inspection of schools supported by Swedish aid. Ambassador von Linde observed how these programs are improving access to quality education, particularly for girls and marginalized communities. He emphasized Sweden’s dedication to ensuring inclusive and equitable education for all, a cornerstone of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Access to Clean Water: A Lifeline for Communities
Access to clean water remains a critical issue in many parts of Pakistan. During his visit, Ambassador von Linde inaugurated a newly constructed water supply system funded by Sweden, which will provide safe drinking water to residents in Jamshore. “I am very impressed by the resilience and strength of the people, especially women and girls, I have met during these past days. They face challenges in accessing services that many of us take for granted. Their voices need to be heard. Change is possible but it requires collective action. She added

UNICEF Pakistan representatives expressed their gratitude for Sweden’s continued support, noting that the partnership has been pivotal in addressing some of the most pressing challenges faced by vulnerable communities. They reiterated their commitment to scaling up these efforts to reach even more people in need. The trip not only highlighted the tangible impact of Swedish aid but also strengthened the bond between the two nations in their shared pursuit of a better future for all.
