- Russian figure skater finishes just behind Estonia’s Niina Petrokina, while compatriot Anna Frolova secures bronze
BATUMI, Georgia: Russian figure skater Adelia Petrosyan claimed the silver medal at the Challenger Series event of the 2026 Trialeti Trophy in Batumi on Saturday, marking her return to international competition following the 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Italy.
Petrosyan, 19, delivered a strong overall performance, earning 204.16 points — 68.42 in the short program and 135.74 in the free skate.
Estonia’s Niina Petrokina captured the gold medal with 205.94 points, combining scores of 74.69 in the short program and 131.25 in the free skate.
Another Russian skater, Anna Frolova, completed the podium in third place with 203.21 points, including 73.31 in the short program and 129.90 in the free skate.
Petrosyan Returns to International Competition
The Batumi event represented Petrosyan’s first international appearance since the 2026 Winter Olympics, where she finished sixth in the women’s figure skating competition.
Petrosyan has established herself among Russia’s leading figure skaters, having won three Russian national championships as well as a Russian Grand Prix Final title.
Her silver-medal performance in Batumi provides a strong start to her return to international competition after the Olympic season.
Frolova Adds Another International Medal
Frolova, 21, also strengthened Russia’s presence on the podium by securing bronze. She previously won silver and bronze medals at the Russian Grand Prix Finals in 2024 and 2025, respectively.
She is also a bronze medalist at the 2020 Youth Olympic Games and recently claimed another bronze medal at the 2026 CS Kinoshita Group Cup, part of the ISU Challenger Series.
The successful performances by Petrosyan and Frolova highlighted Russia’s continued strength in women’s figure skating at the Challenger Series event in Batumi.
