On the initiative of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the UK, the Uzbek Culture and Food Festival will take place on June 21-22 at the iconic Tower Bridge Square, offering the British public a captivating glimpse into the traditions of Central Asia.
The festival marks the grand finale of the “Caravan of Uzbekistan” cultural-gastronomic tour, which has already enchanted audiences in London, Edinburgh, Manchester, Liverpool, Cardiff, and Oxford. Visitors can look forward to:
- Live performances by Uzbek folklore groups
- Tastings of signature dishes like plov, samsa, and sumalak
- Exhibitions showcasing traditional crafts, textiles, and regional diversity
- Tourism presentations highlighting Uzbekistan’s ancient cities and Silk Road heritage
“This event is a bridge between our cultures,” said an embassy representative. “We want to share Uzbekistan’s warmth, flavors, and artistic legacy with the UK.”
The festival underscores Uzbekistan’s growing cultural diplomacy efforts, fostering international interest in its history and vibrant traditions. Meanwhile, in a parallel development, Uzbekistan’s Trade House has recently opened in Pakistan, signaling expanded economic and cultural ties in the region.
