- New Initiative Aims to Transform Economic Opportunities into Joint Ventures, New Enterprises, Job Creation and Expanded Bilateral Trade
ISLAMABAD: Uzbekistan and Pakistan have significant opportunities to deepen economic cooperation, attract investment and expand bilateral trade through stronger business-to-business partnerships, according to a new initiative unveiled at the international SES Diplomatic Network–2026 forum in Islamabad.
The proposed “Uzbekistan–Pakistan Business Exchange 2027” was presented at the forum, which brought together representatives of Pakistan’s government and parliament, the diplomatic community, the United Nations, international organisations and leading business figures.
Addressing the gathering, the initiative’s presenter highlighted the considerable potential for mutually beneficial economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Pakistan, stressing the need to translate existing opportunities into practical outcomes.
Textiles, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, manufacturing, energy, information technology, logistics and tourism were identified as promising sectors for expanding bilateral engagement and developing new commercial partnerships.
The initiative aims to bring entrepreneurs from both countries closer together, strengthen direct business-to-business relations, facilitate investment opportunities and support the development of joint ventures.
Emphasising the initiative’s practical objectives, the presenter said the ultimate goal was to move beyond meetings and agreements towards establishing new businesses, generating employment, attracting investment and increasing bilateral trade.
The proposed platform is expected to provide fresh momentum to private-sector engagement and encourage businesses in both countries to explore commercially viable partnerships.
The initiative reflects a broader ambition to build a stronger Uzbekistan–Pakistan economic partnership based on mutual trust, concrete projects and shared prosperity, turning promising opportunities into sustainable commercial results.
