- Diplomats, Parliamentarians and Dignitaries Gather at Serena Hotel to Mark the Kingdom’s 96th National Day
ISLAMABAD: The 96th National Day of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was celebrated with a dignified and festive ceremony at the Serena Hotel Islamabad, bringing together diplomats, parliamentarians, senior officials and distinguished guests to commemorate the Kingdom’s national occasion and highlight the longstanding bonds of friendship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
The ceremony reflected the depth of the historic relationship between Islamabad and Riyadh, with participants recalling the close fraternal, diplomatic and people-to-people ties that have continued to strengthen over the decades.
Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and Saudi Charge d’Affaires Naif bin Mlafakh jointly cut a commemorative cake during the ceremony, marking the national occasion and symbolizing the enduring brotherly relationship between the two countries.
The cake-cutting ceremony provided a warm moment of celebration and reflected the close diplomatic ties maintained between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
Addressing the gathering, guests and participants highlighted the importance of the Saudi-Pakistani relationship, which extends beyond traditional diplomatic engagement to encompass political cooperation, economic relations, investment, defence, education, culture and strong people-to-people connections.
The ceremony was attended by a large number of diplomats, parliamentarians, government representatives and other prominent dignitaries, who expressed appreciation for the longstanding partnership between the two brotherly countries.
Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have maintained close relations since the establishment of diplomatic ties, with successive leaderships on both sides emphasizing mutual support and cooperation on regional and international issues.
Saudi Arabia also remains an important destination for millions of Pakistani workers, pilgrims and visitors, further strengthening the social and cultural links between the two nations.
Commemorating the Unification of the Kingdom
Saudi National Day commemorates the historic unification of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under King Abdulaziz Al Saud, who established the modern Kingdom in 1932.
The national occasion provides an opportunity to celebrate Saudi Arabia’s history, national achievements and development while reaffirming the country’s commitment to its future.
For Pakistan, the occasion also carries special significance as it provides an opportunity to reaffirm the close friendship between the Pakistani and Saudi peoples. Celebration in Islamabad served as another expression of the deep-rooted relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. The two countries have consistently described their ties as being based on mutual respect, shared values and a strong sense of brotherhood.
The presence of senior Pakistani officials, diplomats and representatives from various sectors at the ceremony underscored the importance attached to the bilateral relationship and reflected continued goodwill between Islamabad and Riyadh.
The National Day celebration concluded in a cordial atmosphere, with guests extending their greetings and best wishes to the leadership and people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the country’s 96th National Day.
