- Kingdom Reaffirms Commitment to Peace, Humanitarian Assistance and Regional Stability Under High Royal Directives
RABAT: In accordance with the High Instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Supreme Commander and Chief of General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) and Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, Morocco on Wednesday signed an agreement to participate in the International Stabilization Force (ISF) in Gaza, reaffirming the Kingdom’s longstanding commitment to promoting peace, regional stability and humanitarian assistance.
The agreement was signed during a high-level meeting attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates Nasser Bourita and Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of the National Defense Administration Abdeltif Loudyi at the headquarters of the Royal Gendarmerie in Rabat.
The meeting was also attended by the Inspector General of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) and Commander of the South Zone, the Commander of the Royal Gendarmerie, and Nickolay Mladenov, High Representative for Gaza of the Board of Peace, who led a senior delegation of Board officials along with the Commander of the International Stabilization Force.
Agreement Reflects Morocco’s Commitment to International Peace
According to a statement issued by Morocco’s National Defense Administration, the visit formed part of Morocco’s efforts to fulfill its commitments as a founding member of the Board of Peace, in line with the High Royal Guidelines announced during the Board’s inaugural meeting held in Washington under the chairmanship of US President Donald Trump.
The meeting concluded with the signing of the Agreement on the Kingdom of Morocco’s Participation in the International Stabilization Force in Gaza, establishing the legal and operational framework for Morocco’s contribution to the multinational peace initiative.
Morocco Highlights Longstanding Peacekeeping Experience
During the discussions, Moroccan officials reaffirmed that the Kingdom’s participation reflects its unwavering commitment to the principles of peace, international cooperation and solidarity.
They emphasized that Morocco’s contribution is intended to support efforts aimed at restoring peace, security and stability in the Middle East while reinforcing international humanitarian initiatives.
The Moroccan delegation also highlighted the Kingdom’s distinguished record in United Nations peacekeeping operations, as well as its continued regional and international efforts to promote dialogue, stability and sustainable development.
Officials further underscored the strategic initiatives launched by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, particularly projects designed to strengthen regional integration, security cooperation and social development.
Morocco to Contribute Military, Security and Humanitarian Support
Representatives of the Board of Peace and the International Stabilization Force welcomed Morocco’s decision to join the mission, describing the Kingdom’s participation as an important contribution to regional peace efforts.
Under the agreement, Morocco will contribute through:
- The deployment of senior officers from the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) to the ISF Joint Command.
- The assignment of personnel from the Royal Gendarmerie and the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
- The establishment of a field military hospital to provide humanitarian and medical assistance.
The delegation praised Morocco’s professional expertise in peacekeeping operations and its longstanding humanitarian engagement in conflict-affected regions.
Strengthening Peace and Security in Gaza
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides formally signed the participation agreement, providing the legal framework governing the technical, operational and logistical aspects of Morocco’s involvement in the International Stabilization Force.
According to the official statement, the agreement reflects the shared determination of all parties to support peace through practical humanitarian, security and stabilization measures aimed at fostering a safer and more secure environment for the people of Gaza and contributing to lasting regional stability.
Morocco’s participation further reinforces the Kingdom’s role as a committed advocate of peace, dialogue and international cooperation under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, while demonstrating its continued support for initiatives that advance security, humanitarian relief and sustainable peace in the Middle East.
