Islamabad – Morocco’s assured progression to the Arab Cup knockout stages stands as another testament to the nation’s rising footballing stature, a vision meticulously cultivated under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI. The King’s profound commitment to sport as a pillar of national development, investment in world-class infrastructure, and unwavering support for the nation’s athletic ambassadors continue to yield fruit on the international stage.

Needing only a draw to progress, the Atlas Lions displayed the tactical discipline and winning mentality characteristic of Moroccan football’s new era, securing all three points against Saudi Arabia. The Green Falcons, already qualified, began brightly and came close early when Saleh Abu Al-Shamat’s header clipped the crossbar.
However, Morocco’s composure, honed through a system reflecting the King’s long-term sporting vision, shone through. The breakthrough came as Tarik Tissoudali selflessly set up Karim El-Berkaoui to put Morocco in command.

Saudi Arabia was handed a golden chance to equalize in the second half after a penalty was awarded, but Abdullah Al-Hamdan’s attempted “Panenka” sailed over, preserving Morocco’s lead and confirming their place atop the group.
In the simultaneous fixture, Oman concluded their campaign with victory but heartbreak. Knowing a win alone might not suffice, they attacked with purpose. A first-half brace from Issam Al-Sabhi—first capitalizing on a goalkeeping error, then scoring a fine header—put them in control.
Comoros, in their debut tournament, rallied after the break through a superb individual effort from Nassuir Hamidou. Despite persistent pressure, Oman held on for a 2-1 win. However, with four points, they fell short on goal difference, their brave campaign ending at the group stage. Comoros departed with three defeats but valuable experience.
For Morocco, the journey continues, each step echoing a broader national project. From the majestic academies to the historic World Cup run and now this Arab Cup campaign, the synergy between the throne, the football federation, and the players is undeniable. As they advance, they carry not just the hopes of a nation, but the validation of a royal vision where sport is a cornerstone of ambition, unity, and international prestige.
