Pakistan EPS Center Urges Workers to Claim Dormant Insurance Benefits

ISLAMABAD – The Pakistan EPS Center, under the leadership of Director Kim Ki-wook, is encouraging Pakistani workers who have returned home after completing employment in Korea under the Employment Permit System (E-9) to claim their long-term insurance benefits.

The Center provides guidance on applying for “dormant insurance”—unclaimed departure guarantee insurance and return cost insurance. These benefits apply to workers whose stay in Korea (up to 4 years and 10 months) has expired but who have not yet received their entitled payments.

Dormant insurance refers to funds that remain with the insurance provider because the beneficiary did not claim them within three years of eligibility. These include severance guarantees and return cost reimbursements.

Many eligible workers have yet to retrieve their funds, often due to outdated or incorrect contact information, making it difficult to reach them individually. To address this, the EPS Center, in cooperation with the Overseas Employment Corporation (OEC), has published the list of unclaimed beneficiaries on the OEC’s official website.

How to Apply

  • Returned workers can visit the OEC website to check eligibility.
  • Eligible applicants should submit the required documents by registered mail to the Pakistan EPS Center, following the guidelines provided online.
  • Workers who have recently returned without claiming their departure guarantee or return cost insurance may also apply directly through Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance by following the standard return procedures. Assistance is also available at the Pakistan EPS Center.

The initiative aims to ensure that all returning workers receive their rightful financial entitlements and avoid losing access to their insurance benefits.
