Ethiopian Embassy in Islamabad and ICCI Announce Joint Business Forum in Lead-Up to Single Country Exhibition

Islamabad – The Ethiopian Embassy in Islamabad and the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) will jointly organize a Business Forum on April 15, 2025, at the ICCI to promote trade and investment opportunities ahead of Pakistan’s Single Country Exhibition in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, scheduled for May 15-17, 2025.

The decision was finalized during a meeting between H.E. Dr. Jemal Beker Abdula, Ethiopia’s Special Envoy and Ambassador to Pakistan, and Mr. Nasir M. Qureshi, President of ICCI, at the Islamabad Chamber on Monday.

Strengthening Bilateral Trade

Both sides discussed enhancing Pakistan-Ethiopia trade relations and strategies for a successful Business Forum. Ambassador Abdula congratulated Mr. Qureshi on his new role and emphasized the strong partnership between the Ethiopian Embassy and ICCI in boosting economic ties.

Ethiopia’s Investment Potential

The Ambassador highlighted Ethiopia’s thriving business climate, driven by Prime Minister H.E. Dr. Abiy Ahmed’s economic reforms. He noted that Ethiopia is ready to welcome Pakistani traders for the Single Country Exhibition, which coincides with “Invest in Ethiopia 2025″—a high-profile business summit from May 12-14, 2025, in Addis Ababa.

ICCI’s Commitment

Mr. Qureshi assured the Embassy of ICCI’s full support in fostering stronger trade relations and ensuring the success of the upcoming exhibition.

This initiative marks another step in deepening economic collaboration between Pakistan and Ethiopia, opening new avenues for businesses and investors.
