- MoST Secretary, Bosnian Ambassador Discuss Implementation of Metrology Cooperation and New Areas of Partnership
ISLAMABAD: Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Pakistan, H.E. Emin Ohodarevic, called on Federal Secretary, Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST), Shahid Iqbal Baloch, at the Ministry on Monday, with both sides discussing measures to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in science, technology and innovation.
The meeting focused particularly on advancing institutional and technical collaboration under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed earlier this year between the Institute of Metrology of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the National Metrology Institute of Pakistan (NMIP).
Welcoming the Ambassador, the Federal Secretary reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to expanding cooperation in science and technology with friendly countries. He described the MoU between the two metrology institutions as an important milestone in developing stronger institutional linkages, technical expertise and knowledge-sharing between Pakistan and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Ambassador Ohodarevic briefed the Federal Secretary on the Bosnian side’s proposed roadmap for advancing cooperation under the MoU. The two sides exchanged views on a range of areas of mutual interest, including metrology, technical capacity building, expert exchanges, knowledge-sharing and enhanced institutional collaboration.
The discussions also explored ways to translate the existing understanding into practical, sustainable and mutually beneficial initiatives that could deliver tangible results for both countries.
The Federal Secretary assured the Ambassador of the Ministry’s full support for effective implementation of the MoU. He said MoST would review the proposed roadmap and coordinate with NMIP to identify priority areas and formulate a practical way forward for implementing the agreed areas of cooperation.
The Bosnian Ambassador thanked the Federal Secretary for the warm reception and reaffirmed Bosnia and Herzegovina’s keen interest in further expanding cooperation with Pakistan in science, technology and innovation.
Both sides agreed to maintain close coordination and regular communication to ensure timely progress and effective implementation of agreed cooperation activities, further strengthening the institutional and technical partnership between Pakistan and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
