Fun Fact: Tajikistan will be making their Finals’ debut after six previous attempts ended at the qualifying stage

Head coach Petar Segrt said the long term target for Tajikistan is to qualify regularly for the AFC Asian Cup and Qatar 2023 is the perfect opportunity for his squad to gain experience.

Tajikistan booked their spot in the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023™ by winning their group and their bid to qualify for the next edition in Saudi Arabia has gotten off to a bright start, with the Central Asian side sitting second in Group G of the Preliminary Joint Qualification – Round 2.

Segrt will demand his team carry that form into the AFC Asian Cup, with defending champions Qatar, China PR and Lebanon their challengers.

It won’t be easy but Tajikistan will definitely rise to the occasion and will be a handful for their opponents.
