Signing Ceremony of the Agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Thailand and the Government of the French Republic on Visa Exemption for Holders of Official/Service Passports

H.E. Mr. Parnpree Bahiddha-Nukara, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, and H.E. Mr. Thierry Mathou, Ambassador of the French Republic to the Kingdom of Thailand, signed the Agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Thailand and the Government of the French Republic on Visa Exemption for Holders of Official/Service Passports. The ceremony was witnessed by representatives from the Thai authorities and Embassy of France in Thailand.

The Agreement will help facilitate the exchange of official visits between two sides and enhance cooperation between the two countries and peoples. The visas will be exempted for holders of valid official/service passports that were issued from 1 July 2020 for an uninterrupted stay or multiple entries with a total period not exceeding 90 days. Furthermore, the conclusion of this Agreement is an achievement that reflects the Thai Government’s policy to empower Thai official passports.

Before the signing ceremony, Ambassador of the French Republic to the Kingdom of Thailand paid a farewell call on the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand. Both sides exchanged views on the Roadmap for Thai-French Relations (2022-2024) as well as plans to establish strategic partnership between the two countries by 2024.
