H.E. Mr. Srettha Thavisin, Prime Minister, was invited to ring the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) bell to mark the start of the trading session. He also had a discussion with Mr. John Tuttle, Vice Chairman of the NYSE Group, on building confidence among U.S. investors on Thai businesses, while showcasing Thailand’s unique position as the regional hub for trade and investment.
In this regard, the Prime Minister highlighted the solid foundation of Thai economy and the government’s proactive economic diplomacy, which focuses on expanding trade and investment, as well as further enhancing cooperation on shared priorities such as strengthening supply chain resilience, tackling climate crisis, advancing clean energy transition, and ramping up digitalisation. He also welcomed the growing presence of Thai businesses in the U.S.
The NYSE is the largest stock exchange in the world in terms of market capitalization and its size, where over 2,400 leading global companies are listed for trading. This visit to NYSE provided important opportunity to enhance connections and network that would benefit Thailand and The U.S. investment in the coming future.
