On January 19, 2020 The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic H.E. Mr. Ruslan A. Kazakbaev received H.E. Mr. Bismellah Waziri the newly appointed Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to the Kyrgyz Republic.

H.E. Mr. Waziri expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to meet and present according the international protocol procedures the copy of Credential Letters on his appointment. Availing this opportunity, H.E. Mr. Waziri congratulated H.E. Mr. Ruslan A. Kazakbaev and the Kyrgyz people on the successful results of the presidential elections, which demonstrated the spirit of unity of the Kyrgyz people. The sides discussed topical issues of the development of Kyrgyz-Afghan relations. In particular, the necessity to increase the bilateral cooperation in trade, economy, culture and humanitarian spheres, as well as in strengthening regional security and joint fight against religious extremism and international terrorism.

H.E. Mr. Ruslan A. Kazakbaev emphasized the need to take joint measures on improving the conditions of the ethnic Kyrgyz of the Great and Small Pamir. In particular, the implementation of infrastructural and social projects, the construction of schools, roads and hospitals in places of compact residence of ethnic Kyrgyz in Afghanistan.

Kyrgyz side expressed gratitude to the Afghan side for the support the latest internal political changes in Kyrgyzstan and noted that Kyrgyzstan is backing the democratic reforms achieved by the Afghan Government over the past decades, primarily in matters of achievement the peace in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.
