King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre (KFSH&RC) marked yesterday the graduation of 290 physicians who were on fellowship for its residency and diploma programs, a press release from KFSH&RC said.
A total of 165 fellow physicians graduated from 66 medical programs, 117 resident doctors graduated from 32 programs, and eight people completed the Clinical Pharmacy Diploma program.
The graduation ceremony was held at Alfaisal University’s Princess Haya Auditorium under the patronage of KFSH&RC CEO Dr. Majid Al Fayyadh. Attending it were Secretary-General of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS) Dr. Aws bin Ibrahim Al-Shamsan, and several hospital officials.
Al Fayyadh commended the graduates for their dedication and hard work, and acknowledged their role in advancing the healthcare sector in the Kingdom. He urged them to apply their knowledge with determination and emphasized their contribution toward achieving the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030’s.
Al Fayyadh also thanked SCHS for its contribution to enhancing the scientific and practical competence of healthcare professionals in the Kingdom, and commended the partnership between the hospital and Alfaisal University, which also contributes greatly to the education and training processes at KFSH&RC.
Since the establishment of the hospital, the “KFSH&RC Academic and Training Affairs has delivered medical education through fellowship and subspecialty training programs for doctors in the Kingdom in collaboration with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties,” the release said.
It added that the center has launched over 170 internationally recognized academic programs in various medical subspecialties, “introducing many that are regionally unique”.
