CHEENGLAB STRETCHES ADVANTAGE IN ROOKIE OF THE YEAR STANDINGS

With just four events left of the 20223 Ladies European Tour (LET) season, there’s still a lot for our Rookies to play for.

In this latest stretch of five events, two of our first-year graduates have secured their maiden LET titles.

Thailand’s Trichat Cheenglab continued her consistent form and got her hands on the trophy at the Big Green Egg Open.

While just one week later, Germany’s Alexandra Försterling dominated the final day in Switzerland to win the VP Bank Swiss Ladies Open.

In the 2023 Rookie of the Year standings, it is Cheenglab who leads the way with 1,448.22 points from the 20 events she has played.

The 28-year-old accumulated plenty of points from her win in the Netherlands as well as T6 result in Hong Kong.

Försterling is in second place in the rankings with 1,004.09 points having had two top-20 results, as well as her victory in the latest part of the season.

Sweden’s Sara Kjellker sits in third place with 807.10 points to her name having had an excellent run of form recently.

The 25-year-old finished in a tie for fifth at the KPMG Women’s Irish Open, a share of fourth place at the Big Green Egg, T13 in Switzerland, was tied for fourth at the Lacoste Ladies Open de France and T28 in Hong Kong.

Thailand’s April Angurasaranee is fourth in the standings with 714.83 points, while Germany’s Patricia Isabel Schmidt is in fifth with 678.54 points.

The next stop for our Rookies is the Hero Women’s Indian Open at DLF Golf and Country Club next week. Join the conversation @LETgolf on Instagram and X (Twitter) and Ladies European Tour on Facebook and YouTube – #RaiseOurGame.
